  Yash Mehta joined MERGE Architects in May 2021. Yash received his B.Arch in Architecture with first-class distinction at S.C.E.T in Surat, India and his M.Arch 2 from SCI_Arc in Los Angeles.
  
  Yash is interested in figuring out the scope of architecture that might be; his interest in Architectural Fiction can be explored in his graduate thesis work “Perceptive Places'', where he examines architectural fictions in relation to surreal errors on the historical cartographical drawings of phantom islands. His interest in surreal aesthetics and new modes of representation developed as a pedagogical interest while serving as an instructor and critic at SCI-Arc. Besides architecture he enjoys the speculative world of Pokemon Go & League of Legends.
  
  Before joining MERGE, Yash worked as a designer at HDA-x in Los Angeles. Prior to moving to the USA, Yash worked as a licensed architect in two leading architectural practices in India, Aangan Architects in Surat and Abraham John Architects in Mumbai;he was involved in a variety of projects ranging from the urban to domestic scale.
