Mahsa Dehghani, LEED AP BD+C joined MERGE Architects in 2021. She received her Masters of Architecture from the University of Houston with a concentration in Computational design. While at school, she explored different design methodologies by working with architects, artists, and fabricators. During that time, she worked on a range of projects from residential and ceiling design to art installations and design competitions.
Prior to joining MERGE, she worked at Perkins and Will in the Houston and Boston offices. There, her work centered on the Science and Technology sector but she also worked on a wide range of institutional, healthcare, and commercial projects. Specifically, she worked on: the Syracuse University STEM master plan and lab renovation, the Columbia University STEM master plan, the Boston University lab renovation, renovations for Boston Properties, the Legacy health clinic, the Texas A&M 21st century classroom building, and the University of Northern Iowa Residential masterplan. She also played a critical role in developing scripts and interfaces for the automation of data assessment and design visualization during the early phases of the master-planning process.
Mahsa’s main interest is in finding the delicate balance between the implementation of advanced technologies to automate and facilitate the design process while staying true to the essence of architecture as an art of creating space and memory.
