Jinah Oh joined MERGE Architects in July 2019. Jinah received her Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, where she developed a sculptural nature and sensitivity to light and shadow in her design language. While at Penn she was awarded a three year departmental grant, selected for publication of the Department of Architecture at PennDesign, and upon her graduation, featured in a Philadelphia AIA exhibit. Jinah attended Connecticut College where she received her B.A. in Architectural Studies, focusing on studio art and Greco-Roman history.
Jinah brings to MERGE her experience in a variety of scales including: the renovation of BU Myles Standish Hall Dormitory, Wheaton College Student Center, and the Piazza, a residential amenity complex and retail plaza in the Northern Liberties. She has worked for firms in both Boston and Philadelphia such as Bechtel Frank and Ericksson, Miller Dyer Spears, ISA, and DIGSAU.
Throughout Jinah’s academic and professional career, she has explored the relationship of architecture to other forms of design, including furniture design and she has prototyped a variety of furniture centered on current gaps in the design market. In her free time, Jinah enjoys playing soccer and painting.
